CULTNAT's commitment to the documentation of the cultural and natural heritage in Egypt led to the creation of a Photographic Heritage Program that is pioneering in the field of automation of the nation's Photographic memory based on archival postcards and photographs.

The series of CD-ROMs produced from available material debuted with the postcards collection of the Daressy family at the Louvre Museum now compiled under the title of "La description de l'Egypte au XXeme siecle". This is followed by Egypt 1920 circa CD-ROMs (part1 and part 2). These volumes focus on the exhaustive collection of black and white photographs of the Lehnert and Landrock collection, the unique continuing photographic activity since the beginning of the century in Egypt. Navigating both CD-ROMs will enable you to explore a wide scope of aspects of life in Egypt at the turn of the century.
